Why run for the school board?

I have always enjoyed working with children, which ultimately led to me pursuing a degree in Occupational Therapy from UW-Madison (Go Badgers!)

I have worked in multiple school districts, each with its own strengths and challenges

I have observed the life-changing impact of supporting students pre-k through high school with their executive functioning, behavior, sensory and fine motor needs

The collaboration and communication skills I developed as a school-based therapist has directly impacted my journey as a parent and volunteer

My family moved to Plymouth over a decade ago as my oldest child was preparing to enter kindergarten

I quickly found myself volunteering as room parent, then joining the PTA and eventually becoming a board member

My focus has always been to foster communication between students, parents and staff while ensuring that the entire school community is represented
​

Spending time inside many of our schools has given me a unique insight into what makes our district so special and where continued growth is possible

I have been a Wayzata District Liaison Committee member since 2020, acting as Vice-President for the 2024-2025 school year and as President for the 2025-2026 school year.

I have participated in National PTA Legislative Conferences as an advocate for Wayzata Public Schools

In addition to my work on multiple grant committees assisting with teacher and support staff funding, I have also assisted with creating grants for materials that benefit our schools

I serve as a proctor for high school level testing including PSAT, SAT, AP & IB exams
